Virginia SNAP recipients will again receive emergency allotments on Dec. 16
The Virginia Department of Social Services announced that eligible recipients of SNAP benefits will continue to receive emergency allotments in December. These emergency funds began for Virginia SNAP recipients as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The emergency allotments raise existing recipients’ monthly benefits to the maximum allowable amount based on household size. Participants with questions are encouraged to contact their local department of social services or visit commonhelp.virginia.gov to access account information. The department says these emergency benefits will be automatically loaded to Virginia recipients’ EBT cards on December 16th.
