Virginia House Approves Measure That Would Repeal The Town Of Pound Virginia’s Charter
A Virginia House of Delegates bill, sponsored by southwest Delegate and House Majority Leader Terry Kilgore is unanimously approved in Richmond, making the possibility the Town of Pound Virginia will be no longer come July 1, of 2023. The small, rural, Wise County community, with a population of 894 is plagued by municipal issues and will have until that date to improve conditions and leadership. If that happens, the town’s charter will not be repealed. The legislation still needs Senate approval before going to Governor Youngkin for his signature.
