Virginia Governor Northam says Commonwealth’s general fund revenues grow 15.6 percent in October
Virginia Governor Northam says the Commonwealth saw general fund revenues grow 15.6 percent in October, which was driven by an increase in payroll withholding and sales tax collections. Northam says this continued growth is a reflection of the state’s responsible fiscal management.
According to a press release, collections of payroll withholding taxes grew 9.8 percent in October; and collections of sales and use taxes, reflecting September sales, rose 12.2 percent. On a fiscal year-to-date basis, total revenue collections grew 11.8 percent.
