Virginia Creeper Trail to receive funding from federal gov’t for rebuild
Virginia Creeper Trail is receiving funding to rebuild from the federal government. 17 miles of the trail have been devastated by Hurricane Helene, but through the American Relief Act of 2025 the federal government has set aside $660 million dollars to rebuild the trail. Virginia U.S. Senator Mark Warner was a big proponent of getting relief funding for the trail and for Damascus, but he says something needs to be done in the meantime because repairs will take some time. Since the announcement the U.S. Forest Service says they’re seeking public input on the reconstruction. To include your input, visit the U.S. Forest Service website.
