Virginia Bill Would Put Stricter Penalties On Fentanyl Production And Distribution

Virginia lawmakers want to classify the deadly drug Fentanyl as a weapon of terrorism after a recent increase in Fentanyl overdose deaths. Under the designation, those who knowingly and intentionally distribute and manufacture any mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of fentanyl would be guilty of a Class 4 felony. That could mean up to ten years in prison and a maximum fine of one hundred thousand dollars. Senator Bryce Reeves says Fentanyl is a serious drug that’s being pushed by the Chinese through cartels and across our border openly every day.
