Veteran of Johnson City Fire Department receives official title of Chief

Johnson City Interim Fire Chief David Bell was given the permanent title on Wednesday according to a report from City Manager Cathy Ball.

Bell is a 24-year-veteran of the force including his recent duties of overseeing the agency’s budget, training, and grants as administrative district chief for the past two years.

Bell also spearheaded the process to have the JCFD fully accredited by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International—only the sixth department in Tennessee to receive the ranking.
