VDOT: Most highway, interstate lane closures and road work suspended during holidays
The Virginia Department of Transportation says it will suspend most highway and interstate lane closures during the holidays. VDOT says most highway work zones and lane closures will be suspended for both the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Lane closures will be suspended from noon on December 23rd to noon on December 27th; and again from December 30th to January 3rd at the same times. While most lane closures will be lifted during these times, VDOT says some road crews may still be on location at semi-permanent work zones. Motorists are encouraged to still use caution near work zones.
