Use of force incident by Sullivan County officers in Kingsport being reviewed by TBI
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been called in to gather further facts about a use of force incident involving Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office personnel Tuesday morning.
A preliminary TBI statement said the incident occurred in Kingsport on Barnett Road located in the Rock Springs area as shots were fired from inside a mobile home where SWAT members had arrived to execute a search warrant.
One deputy returned fire and the resident was taken into custody after a brief standoff. No injuries were reported.
