USDA gives rural Virginia communities more than $1.5 million for extended internet, telehealth services
U.S. Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine announced that more than 1.5 million dollars in federal funding from the USDA will go to rural Virginia to expand access to high-speed internet, telehealth, and online education. Bristol, Virginia Public Schools will receive $993,840 to purchase video conferencing equipment to deliver distance learning and telehealth services to 21 schools in rural Virginia. Additional funds will go to the University of Virginia for tele-medicine equipment to serve numerous locations.
