USDA awards $3 million grant to expand access to broadband internet in Washington County, Virginia
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development division awarded a three million dollar grant to expand access to broadband internet in Washington County, Virginia. The grant was awarded to iGo Technology, which will assist USDA Rural Development in their efforts.
According to the USDA, this Community Connect grant will be used to create a 56-mile fiber-to-the-premises system. Once completed, this broadband system should bring internet to 887 residents and seven businesses in Washington County, Virginia.
