UPDATE: Warner says Treasury Department approves $220M for broadband in Virginia

US Senator Mark Warner says the Treasury Department has approved a $220 million allotment from the American Rescue Plan to deploy last-mile broadband in Virginia.
Warner said the COVID pandemic has exposed that too many Americans are being left behind without access to high-speed internet for work, school, or telehealth.
Governor Ralph Northam campaign for the project in Southwest Virginia in July and noted the state would pledge $700 million to make statewide broadband possible.
