UPDATE: Suspected cop killer in Kentucky commits suicide

A man accused of killing three police officers in neighboring Floyd County, Kentucky committed suicide while in custody.

Sheriff John Hunt confirmed 49-year-old Lance Storz’s death by hanging Tuesday. County Attorney Keith Bartley said it was a coward’s way out by a coward in every sense of the word.

Storz traded gunfire in June with policemen who were serving an emergency arrest order. A K9 officer was also killed and four other people were injured.
