UPDATE: Lebanon suspect issued gun charge warrant prior to Tuesday shooting
We’re learning more about the shooting incident that left one person dead in Russell County and the suspect charged.
A report from the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said a warrant had been issued for Dennis Dee Gilbert, 70, of Cleveland, days prior to the shooting on a brandishing a firearm charge involving an incident in Lebanon with a female victim. Gilbert is facing three charges from the parking lot shooting at Lebanon’s Walmart including 2nd degree murder.
Gilbert and the victim, identified in media reports as Zachary Boyd, had a verbal altercation prior to the shooting. Boyd was reportedly shot once and later died at an area hospital.
