UPDATE: Kingsport’s boil water notice lifted

A testing process from state and local environmental experts that showed no contaminants enabled Kingsport to lift a boil water notice in select communities.

The cautionary move was made after a waterline broke inside the city’s water filtration plant. The report said testing showed contaminants never entered the water supply.

The line break affected several of the city’s primary water storage tanks and some of the higher elevation experience no water as repairs were being conducted.
