UPDATE: Kingsport man arrested for role in Janurary 6th riot scheduled for court next week
A Kingsport, Tennessee man arrested for his role in the January 6th insurrection is scheduled to appear in federal court for a status update.
The hearing for Albuquerque Cosper Head is set for next Wednesday.
Prosecutors said Head was acting as an ally to a Capitol Policeman when he then dragged him into the fray of protesters, causing the officer to have a heart attack and suffer more physical and emotional injuries including a brain injury and PTSD.
That officer, Michael Fanone, testified on Capitol Hill in July and said lawmakers who have discounted the seriousness of the riot have betrayed their oath of office.
“The indifference shown to my colleagues is disgraceful!” Fanone exclaimed during the hearing.
Fanone resigned from the force last month after 20 years to take a job at CNN.
