UPDATE: Child rape suspect who shot, killed self identified

The Greeneville Police Department on Friday released the name of a man who shot and killed himself while deputies attempted to serve him a warrant for child rape. According to the update from Captain Tim Davis, the man was identified as 36-year-old Juan De Dios Leyea-Marcial of Bradley Avenue in Greeneville.

Leyea-Marcial was accused of raping a child, and as officers confronted him at his residence with an arrest warrant, he shot himself. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting Greeneville Police in the investigation.
