UPDATE: Boswell scheduled for Criminal Court appearance in Blountville

Megan Boswell is expected back in court Thursday in Sullivan County as legal proceedings continue in the murder case of her daughter Evelyn.

The toddler was found dead on family property in the Muddy Creek community of Blountville in March 2020 after family members reported in December of 2019 that 1-year-old Evelyn had not been seen in months.

The discovery of the child’s remains was preceded by weeks of searching and complaints about Megan Boswell and the stories she would tell investigators about the toddler’s whereabouts which eventually led the Sheriff’s Office to charge her with 12 counts of false reporting.

Additional charges could be placed against Megan after state prosecutors said they were awaiting tests on more evidence collected in the case from TBI laboratories.
