Unicoi County extends Local State of Emergency Order

The Unicoi County Commission unanimously approved an extension of its Local State of Emergency Executive Order of Declaration. Mayor Garland Evely said this is an order that has to be renewed weekly. Evely said the county is following guidance from Governor Bill Lee. The commission also approved a $1 million grant from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency for disaster recovery. Unicoi County residents can apply for individual government assistance until January 7. FEMA representatives have a Disaster Recovery Center set up at the National Guard Armory/Unicoi Emergency Operations Center on South Main Ave. in Erwin.
