Two Blountville men honored for lifesaving Christmas Day rescue
Two Blountville men were honored by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office for rescuing a man who flipped his car on Christmas Day. Tim and Brandon Keller were driving on Hawley Road when they came across a vehicle that had overturned in the roadway.
Police say the men stopped to check the vehicle, and found the driver, an 89-year-old man, buckled in and upside down in the car. The Kellers saw the vehicle smoking and sprang into action, working to remove the driver as the car began to catch fire, saving the his life. Sullivan County Sheriff Jeff Cassidy presented plaques to both Tim and Brandon Keller for their brave, lifesaving actions.
