Two arrested after Hawkins County Police find significant amount of meth, GHB during traffic stop
Two people are in jail after Hawkins County Police found a significant amount of drugs during a traffic stop. According to a police report, the Hawkins County Narcotics Unit recognized a wanted male subject while driving on Highway 70.
Officers conducted a traffic stop after the driver crossed the emergency lane when merging and confirmed the passenger to be Bruce Fonteccio, who was wanted out of Knox County. The driver, Christy Givens, agreed to a search of the vehicle, where a K-9 unit helped police discover seven ounces of meth and three ounces of GHB. Both Givens and Fonteccio were arrested, and after gathering statements, the drugs found are believed to have been in route to be distributed in Hawkins County.
