Train fatality reported in Marion

The Marion Police Department is investigating after a person was hit and killed by a train. Marion officials said officers responded to the train tracks near the Church Street bridge Wednesday morning and discovered that a person had been struck by a train. Police said it appeared the person was from out of the state and using the railway to travel. The person’s identity will not be released until their next of kin has been notified.
