TN and SWVA open air burn warnings
It is fall fire season in both Tennessee and Southwest Virginia where the likelihood of wildfires igniting is higher due to the drought conditions. Fire officials are warning against having open air fires. Wildfires have been reported in Southwest Virginia, including Russell county with a fire near Grundy which burned 800 acres, that has been brought under control. Other fires have been reported in Dickenson County. Some smaller fires have been reported in Northeast Tennessee as well. Fire officials are urging people not to burn, but if they do, to make sure every precaution is put in place to burn safely. Also, Burn permits are still required before igniting open fires during fire season in Tennessee.
