Three Southwest Virginia Localities Receive Funding For Expanded, Full Day Preschool Opportunities
Designed to meet the needs of southwest Virginia families who work hard, but still struggle to find affordable early education options, three southwest Virginia municipalities are participating in a funded program to support quality preschool experiences and expand access to early childhood development services. Child care centers in the City of Bristol, Washington County, and Smyth Counties will receive funding to provide high quality, year round, full day preschool opportunities. The United Way of Southwest Virginia has been awarded funding and will collaborate with community partners. The funding comes from the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation.
