Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Hazardous Waste Collection coming to Sullivan County
The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation’s Hazardous Waste Collection is coming to the area again to assist residents in clearing their households of unwanted materials. Household hazardous waste includes any unwanted corrosive, flammable, or reactive materials used for vehicles, homes, or lawn and gardens. Examples of items accepted include paint thinner, pesticides, coolants, and pharmaceuticals. Participants are asked to keep materials in their original containers and double package if leaking. Upon arrival, residents will be asked what county they live in and from how many households they are bringing waste. This free hazardous waste disposal service happens at Sullivan Central High School on Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM.
