Suspected burglar fatally shot in Bluff City

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office said a man was killed in Bluff City on Sunday after allegedly attempting to burglarize a home. A 911 call regarding a burglary in progress occurred just before 11 a.m. on Sunday from the 300 block of Buffalo Road. While deputies were responding to the call, shots were reportedly fired at the residence. The SCSO said an adult male who attempted to enter the home was hit by gunfire and later pronounced dead. The investigation into the shooting continues.
