Sullivan D.A. Wants To Use Opioid Settlement Funds For Long Term Opioid Treatment Facility

Sullivan County, one of many counties that joined the Opioid Crisis Lawsuit filed against Purdue Pharmaceuticals is expected to receive a portion of a five billion dollar settlement. Some of that money might be used to open a soon to be closed prison workcamp in Carter County. Sullivan County District Attorney General Barry Staubus. General Staubus recently made a request to County Commissioners, for some of the money to go to the proposed Opioid treatment facility. Staubus says the workcamp is furnished with medical beds, a kitchen and other amenities for long term recovery.
