Students escape injury in Lee County school bus collision
No injuries were reported by state police after a crash Thursday in Lee County, Virginia.
The preliminary report said troopers were called to the scene just before 9 a.m. in Pennington Gap at a Route 58 intersection near Hobbs Hollow Road.
The agency said two children were on board when the bus stopped to pick up more students and the collision occurred. None of the juveniles were hurt, VSP said.
The driver of the pickup truck that ran into the bus, identified as James Shoemaker, Jr., 34, of Duffield, was given a citation for following too close.
