Stout appointed to vacant Washington County TN seat

Democratic commissioner Jodi Jones was the sole “no” vote on the decision to appoint Republican David Stout to fill the Washington County, Tennessee Ninth District seat. The decision was just six weeks before voters are to decide between three candidates, including Stout. Independent candidate Joy Fulkerson and Democratic nominee Raven Olson were in attendance for the decision. Not all agreed with the appointment. Stout was quoted as saying “I plan to represent everyone in the district, Republican, independent, and Democrat.”
