Speeding Leads To Drug Bust, Drugs Seized

A traffic stop for speeding is now the least of the worries for a Jonesborough man after police discover a large amount of marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms and drug paraphernalia. Gabriel Watson of Jonesborough was clocked going 78 in a 60 mph speed zone on Interstate 26. While police spoke to Watson they noticed a strong odor of pot coming from the vehicle. Police confiscated more than five ounces of pot in both weed and wax forms, along with psychedelic mushrooms and more than one thousand dollars in cash. Watson was being held on a 21 thousand dollar bond and was scheduled for arraignment on Monday.
