Southwest Virginia Man Pleads Guilty To 17 Counts Of Child Porn

A southwest Virginia man is facing a sentence of between 20 and 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to 17 counts of Production of Child Pornography. 42 year old William Dean Blankenship of Bland County was a previously convicted felon. Sheriff’s officers and Virginia State Police executed a search warrant after receiving information that Blankenship had engaged in sexual acts with children and was in possession of child Pornography. More than 50 videos produced by Blankenship depicted him engaging in sexual intercourse with two minors who were believed to be between the ages of 14-13 on numerous occasions and also offered the minors narcotics and other controlled substances. Blankenship will be sentenced in December.
