SNOW UPDATE: Patches of snow and ice remain across the Tri-cities; Monday morning commutes affected

Patches of snow and ice can still be found in many areas across the region, and road crews say this will impact drivers’ Monday morning commute. TDOT and VDOT encourage people to stay off the roads, and to take safety measures if they must travel Monday morning and afternoon.

According to Virginia State Police, troopers have responded to 486 disabled motorists across the Commonwealth between midnight and 8 PM on Sunday, 72 of those in Southwest Virginia.
