Single-vehicle crash kills one in Carroll County, Virginia

Virginia State Police says a single-vehicle crash in Carroll County resulted in one fatality on Sunday morning. A pickup truck was traveling North on Route 679, Wards Gap Road, when it ran off the right side of the road, struck a tree, and overturned.

A preliminary report says the driver, Joey Dalton, 46, of Laurel Fork, Virginia was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say he was not wearing a seat belt. The incident remains under investigation.
