Sheriff says body recovered in Jonesborough is not connected to previous hurricane flooding

A report from Sheriff Keith Sexton and the Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office says a body was recovered Friday afternoon near Jonesborough.
The statement said the remains were found near the Nolichucky River off Arnold Road and preliminary information and evidence from the scene indicates this is not a death related to previous flooding from September’s hurricane.
The body was transported to the Jenkins Forensics Center at ETSU in Johnson City for an autopsy and identification.
