Several Fires Keeping Area Firefighters Busy

Several fires in the area have kept fire fighters busy the last few days. The one hundred acre Buffalo Mountain brush fire is now 75 percent contained. Meanwhile, a trailer fire, just off Granby Road in Kingsport, got out of control and spread to a wooded section precariously close to Parker’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. But quick action by numerous units from the Kingsport Fire Department quenched the blaze. And in Bristol, Virginia a family made it to safety when fire broke out at their home of Elm Street. Unfortunately the family’s pet did not survive.
