Security guard charge with helping kids in DCS custody to run away
A security guard working at a Johnson City Department of Children’s Services transitional home is accused of helping two children in state custody run away and taking them to Sevierville over the night of April 2. Chelsea Price was stopped by Sevier County authorities on April 3 in a car with the runaways after an alert from Johnson City Police Department. She is charged with two counts each of harboring a runaway and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Both are class A misdemeanors. She was released from the Washington County Jail on bond and arraigned Monday. The youths are back in state custody. Price worked for Blue Life Security, a Crossville company that DCS contracts to provide services at transitional homes.
