Richmond Based Pot Opposition Group Denounces Congresswoman’s Marijuana Reform Act
A Richmond based, non partisan, non profit group, opposed to the legalization of pot says a South Carolina Congresswoman’s plans to amend the Controlled Substance Act in regards to marijuana legalization would lead to federal legalization of pot, and would allow a overnight, Big Tobacco, Pharma, and Alcohol takeover of Virginia’s legalized pot market sales which goes into effect in 2024. Smart Approaches to Marijuana says Congresswoman Nancy Mace’s bill would only impose a three percent excise tax and will not require states to set 21 as the minimum age for purchasing marijuana. Virginia’s current pot law allows for individuals 21 and older to grow up to four plants on their property.
