Passenger dies from injuries suffered in Interstate 81 crash

A Virginia State Police report says the driver involved in an Interstate 81 crash earlier this week told officers something hit his car’s windshield causing him to swerve off the road.

The vehicle went off the highway near Exit 19 northbound then hit a fence and tree with the passenger Vickie Taylor, 58, suffering injuries that resulted in her death.

The driver, identified as Mikel Taylor, 59, was injured and was charged with reckless driving.
