‘Park It Forward’: Great Smoky Mountains National Park proposing parking fees to help with repairs
Great Smoky Mountains National Park Superintendent Cassius Cash unveiled a proposal Wednesday that would generate millions of dollars each year to help repair and preserve all aspects of the property.
The Park It Forward plan would increase fees for rentals for camping spots and backpacking permits while charging a $5 fee for daily parking.
A public comment term for visitors has been set and submissions must be made by May 7th.
