One dead following shooting in downtown Blacksburg near Virginia Tech campus

Virginia Tech President Tim Sands confirmed a current student was one of four people injured in a downtown Blacksburg shooting that left one person dead.

Police were called to a hookah lounge late Friday evening near campus that was placed on lockdown for several hours.

The incident is still in the early stages of an investigation.
