The bodies of a mother and daughter reported missing early Monday have been recovered in neighboring Avery County, North Carolina.
A Sheriff’s Office report said both victims were found dead inside an upside down vehicle that had landed in a creek. Preliminary information says the vehicle had been involved in a collision in the Cranberry community on Highway 19 E prior to landing in the water.
A missing person alert was issued Monday for Paige Johnson and her daughter Delaney who had not been seen for several hours. Johnson was reportedly on her way to work at the time of the wreck. The North Carolina Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation.
Several family and friends confirmed on social media that Johnson and the child were the ones who were found.
