Milligan University awarded grant for campus security upgrades
Milligan University was awarded a grant for over $166,000 to enhance existing public safety measures on campus. The university says that the funds, awarded from Tennessee’s Department of Finance & Administration and the state Office of Criminal Justice Programs, will be used to install electronic access control at residence halls across campus. The new technology will allow security the ability the lock down buildings on campus from a remote location. Some funding will also go to on-campus residence halls to install magnetic door locks allowing students to enter through smart cards and mobile credentials for students to access to areas by using their phones or smartwatches.
