According to Sullivan County Circuit Court Clerk Bobby Russell, the total cost of the trial was just 4 cent shy of $29,620. Boswell’s trial resulted in Sullivan County’s first sequestered jury in almost two decades. A breakdown of costs showed that $16,198 was spent on lodging over the course of the trial. Sequestered jurors were paid $30 per day while regular jurors present for selection received $10 per day with a 10-cent stipend per mile traveled to court.
