Man wreaks havoc on highways and businesses during Allendale crime spree
The list of crimes and dangerous conditions created by a Southwest Virginia man in Kingsport last month is long.
A city police report a crime spree started with 24-year-old Tristan Sexton of Wise driving a stolen SUV into the front of a grocery store in Allendale off West Stone Drive. Sexton is also accused of damaging a gas line at Scooter’s Coffee and firing a flare gun at the gas leak to cause a fire, busting out windows of parked cars and taking items from inside, and spraying obscene messages in purple paint onto a Kingsport squad car.
Sexton was captured while running from officers and found with purple paint on his hands. He’s facing two counts of felony vandalism, attempted arson, two counts of auto burglary, evading arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
