Lee Makes Good On Promise, Names New TDOC Commissioner

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee made good on a decision to name a permanent Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Corrections in the month of January by announcing Frank Strada will now head the state agency. Strada currently serves as the Deputy Director for the Arizona Department of Corrections and has 34 years experience. Last week, Governor Lee announced a sequence of actions to ensure proper protocol is being followed at the Tennessee Department of Corrections. Lee laid out a series of changes including staffing changes at the leadership level as well as a review of lethal injection procedures at TDOC.
