Lee County fire crews battling 1,000 acre fire

The Lee County Sheriff’s Department says that fire crews are battling a 1,000-acre fire in a rural part of the county. The Big Glow fire ignited around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. All 6 of the counties fire departments responded and the Virginia Department of Forestry has since taken over fighting the blaze. The fire is not contained, but officials said the rain is helping. No structures are in danger as of Thursday morning.
