Landfill Dispute Puts Both Bristol’s Face To Face In Mediation
Despite objections from Bristol, Tennessee officials, a Senior U.S. District Judge has ordered the ongoing lawsuit between Bristol, Virginia and Bristol, Tennessee over Bristol, Virginia’s foul, smelling landfill to go to mediation. Bristol, Tennessee objected to it’s sister city’s request to go to mediation. Bristol, Tennessee wants the case settled in court. The judge in the case cited with Bristol, Virginia’s claim that the cost of the lawsuit is a burden on both cities and its taxpayers. With the judges order, the two sides will now workout resolutions to the lawsuit under the supervision of a magistrate judge.
