Kingsport Fire Department On Standby After Loud Boom And Smoke Coming From Eastman Chemical Company

Kingsport’s Fire Department is on standy following a loud boom that was heard this morning near the Eastman Campus. Barry Brickey with Kingsport’s Fire department station number told us Monday morning they were contacted by Eastman Fire officials around 745 Monday morning. Brickey says its common for Eastman’s fire Department to ask for Kingsport Fire backup when the company’s fire fighters are actively responding to an event on the Eastman Campus. We have reached out to Eastman’s Media Contacts but have not yet heard back from them.
