Kingsport cycle rider killed in Moreland Drive crash

A motorcycle rider was killed in Kingsport when his vehicle crashed while traveling on Moreland Drive.

A report from city police said Robert A. Murphy, 44, had exited onto the road from South John B. Dennis Highway when he failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway then struck a guardrail throwing him from the bike.

The review of the crash remains ongoing.
