Kingsport Church Donates More Than 80 Thousand Dollars For Homeless Shelter Assistance
A sad and desperate, homeless situation in Kingsport just got a financial boost that will help those who are marginalized and homeless have a chance to get off the streets. First Broad Street United Methodist Church in Kingsport set a goal of 45 thousand dollars for a Christmas Eve offering. On Sunday, the church handed over a check worth more than 80 thousand dollars that will help establish a planned shelter for more than 40 homeless individuals. The shelter will also provide day services to assist with doctors appointments, social work issues and job searches with the assistance of the Kingsport Homeless Coalition.
