King University salutes Jewell Bell’s 70 years of service
King University could have the longest-tenured employee of any establishment, private or public, in the greater Tri-Cities area.
The Bristol, Tennessee school recently commemorated the 70th anniversary of the hiring of Jewell Bell. The 93-year-old began her career at King as a maid. That would blossom into several promotions through the years to her current job as an executive assistant in the communications office.
Bell also has a street on campus named in her honor and the school launched a scholarship fund in honor of Jewell in the early 2000s.
